Infinite MMA is reporting that Paul Slowinski has been forced to drop out of his scheduled fight today in Australia:
Very unfortunate news was announced first up at the Knees Of Fury 26 weigh-in’s tonight by promoter Ethan Shepp. It’s been confirmed that Paul Slowinski is out of tomorrow night’s WMC title fight & will be out of action for a few months, if not possibly longer. Exact significance of the injury wont be known until further tests can be done.
Slowinski was scheduled to headline the show against Faisal Zakaria, who will now face Andre Meunier in the main event.
This is definitely unfortuante news for Slowinski, who spent the early part of the year recovering from a brutal KO at the hands of Melvin Manhoef at last year’s K-1 Grand Prix finals. Slowinski bounced back in June with an impressive win over Patrice Quarteron and looked to keep the momentum going here.
Our best wishes to Slowinski for a speedy recovery.
