Sakuraba IN, Manhoef OUT for Dream 12

d12laughter7Some updates to the card for Dream 12, aka, Dream in a Cage. The biggest news revolves around the Zelg Galesic fight. Originally set up as Galesic v. Melvin Manhoef, the fight is now Galesic v. Kazushi Sakuraba after Manhoef was forced to drop out due to injury. No word on the details yet, but considering he fought in 2008 with tubes in his chest, one has to assume it’s a big enough injury to really keep Melvin out. As for Sakuraba, this will be the beloved Japanese veteran’s second fight in October after a long layoff to open the year. One interesting note on Sakuraba, because of the cage Dream has made it a point to choose fighters with cage experience – not so here. This will be Sakuraba’s first cage fight since his lone UFC appearance in 1997.
